DCSoundSystem plays an infectious mix of ska, dancehall, reggae, and punk. But the interesting thing is DCSoundSystem is not a band at all. DCSoundSystem is one guy, a keyboard, and a laptop.

Inspired by old school Jamaican Deejays, Hardcore Punk DIY and American Rappers DCSoundSystem is a DIY operation to the extreme. But to DCSoundSystem DIY means a deep seeded professionalism. Founded in the belief that you don't need a band to make amazing music, DC (the guy behind the Sound System) is a multi-instrumentalist that records his ska-punk riddims carefully and refines them until they simply make you want to explode. Then, he plays over them with synth, melodic Jazzy singing; blood curdling gruff screams and old school reggae organ.

DCSoundSystem is a slap in the face. A slap that is so joyous and beautiful you'll want your teeth to fly out.
