The Bartenders are 10 musicians, including extended rhythm section (drums, bass, guitar, keyboards and percussions), three horns, vocalist and a sound specialist.
The music we play is strongly inspired by compositions of Jamaican musicians of the 60’s, especially genre called ska-jazz, what makes the band unique in our country. It’s the cause of our performances with such giants as New York Ska-Jazz Ensemble, The Slackers, The Aggrolites, Rotterdam Ska-Jazz Foundation or Babylove & the Van Dangos. From many gigs we played, also worth mentioning are our performances on festivals: Reggae Dub Festival, Underground Reggaeland Festival, Warsaw Multicultural Street Party, Flader Pop Festival, Warszawskie Spotkania Teatralne and Fafa Festival.
We organize "The Bartenders meet..." gigs, to which we invite musicians that we admire. We already met eg. Marika (singer acclaimed to be the queen of Polish dancehall music) [video], Robert Majewski (famous Polish jazzman, trumpet player) [video] or Daniel Broman (singer of fabulous Babylove & the Van Dangos) [video].
So far we published self-labelled EP, but the beginning of Spring 2012 will bring to you our debut album, with few great guests such as Dr. Ring Ding, Daniel Broman or Mamadou Diuof.
Check our websites and stay tuned!
